Privacy policy

This policy explains how Doc Auto Spares collects and uses your personal information, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

What we collect

• Your email address, used to sign in and send order updates.
• Your name, phone number and delivery address when you place an order.
• Your orders: the parts you bought, amounts and delivery status.

We do not collect or store your card details. Card payments are handled entirely by Yoco on their secure payment page.

How we use it

• To process, pack and deliver your orders.
• To send sign-in codes, order confirmations and delivery updates.
• To contact you about your order, returns or refunds.
• To check that delivery addresses are real, so deliveries arrive.
• To send you an occasional service reminder (about 6 months after delivery), with a one-tap unsubscribe link in every reminder.

We do not sell your information. Apart from service reminders, which you can unsubscribe from at any time, we don't send you marketing without your permission.

Who we share it with

Only with service providers we need to run the shop, and only what they need:

• Yoco: card payment processing.
• Our courier or delivery partner: your name, phone number and address.
• Our email provider: to send your sign-in codes and order emails.
• Our hosting provider: to store your account and orders securely.
• OpenStreetMap: the address you enter, to check it exists.

Some of these providers may store information outside South Africa, with protections that meet POPIA requirements.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as needed for delivery, returns, warranty claims and tax law (usually 5 years), then delete them.

Your rights

You may ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted where we're not legally required to keep it. You may also complain to the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za).
